NATURE WALK MUST-HAVES: WHAT I’M LISTENING TO & WEARING

IMO: nothing beats a crisp morning walk.

And lucky for me, living in the Eastern Townships makes it easy to enjoy the abundance of nature near my house, trails, and the glorious colours come autumn!

I don’t bring much with me, but there are a few things I reach for almost every time — something good to listen to, comfortable shoes and, lately, a little extra weight, aka my 8 lb weighted vest (I was influenced, and I love it - I love the little extra challenge it adds to my walks!)

An hour, 2–3 times per week, is usually enough to make me feel grounded, hit those 10–12k steps and consume selective content. I say selective because sometimes it’s an audiobook, sometimes a walking meditation on Activations, sometimes nothing, just birds, cracking leaves and my thoughts. But rarely a podcast these days, I’ve fallen out of tune with them for no reason at all.

These past few weeks, I’ve been listening to Part 4, Autumn in my all-time favourite book: Evergreen, by Lydia Elise Millen, a book on seasonal living I really gravitate to. This section covers September, October, November and always inspired me! I also just started Swan Song, written by Princess Diana’s brother - I can’t wait to be in the thick of it. And whenever I don’t have the time for a full-on nature walk, I just select a walking meditation on the Activations app, and enjoy the neighborhood!
